I've long been a fan of Gilda Radner. One of the seven original cast members on Saturday Night Live - the very first, in fact - she was progressive, a woman who broke barriers in a male-dominated comedy industry.
Through iconic characters like Roseanne Roseannadanna she brought an unseriousness to television screens - and she did it all with an infectious sense of joy.
Gilda had an enchanting sense of humour, she could bring you in on the joke in a way where you couldn't really tell what was scripted and what wasn’t.
